Relics. Tide.

Exhibition of personal artifacts

Relics. Tide. Artefacts from the artists life. (Read more)

Jewellery, data containers, costumes, heirlooms, boxes, cases and everyday items are curated for the viewer.

This installation and digital archive asks the audience to make a gentle enquiry into what it means to be human and alive on Earth at this time by exploring historic and modern day artefacts, found and curated, alongside artist-crafted works. It explores themes of travel, trade and possession. How do we archive and document?

Previous exhibits from this exhibition series were exhibited at ArtSpace Life Space, the Island, Bristol and Pervasive Media Studio, the Watershed, Bristol.

Life is a Stage

A glorious lightness of being and heartfelt human connection

Bristol Old Vic. & The Tobacco Factory.

Life is a Stage: an exploration of the human condition through song, costume, dance and percussion… exploring a lightness of heart and a lightness of being; joy and human connection. Exploring the potential to include VR & AR for a remote digital package.

Live dance, poetry, percussion and song performance and the development of a digital immersive media package. This prototype scratch performance involved theatre research and methodology for neurodivergent practitioners and cast. Methodologies for individuals recovering from stroke were also explored as part of the accessibility strand of this project. Caroline composed & co-composed the music and wrote the poetry for this live scratch performance at Prototype Festival at the Tobacco Factory.

  • Can digital art expand viewing for remote audiences?
  • What opportunity for accessibility and enhanced cultural exchange can XR, extended realities and digital packages offer audiences?

This initial exploration at Bristol Old Vic theatre and the Tobacco Factory was a research and development piece and prototype investigating where digital (VR and digital archives) could meet theatre and dance to expand audience reach and provide enhanced accessibility options for remote viewers. The dance was choreographed to invite future development and documentation.
